A few things

The amount of time between posts suggests that I’ve been quite neglectful here, but it's easy to lose track of time when you're absorbed in the workshop or stealing moments of sun, or just living your life away from the computer. 

I'm also hopeless at documenting projects I've been involved with — an area for improvement. One problem with photographing this kind of work is that unless you’re putting some effort in, the photos can be frustratingly underwhelming (as you’ll see below) — this goes doubly for hewn timbers! But here are some low quality attempts anyway.

Plate rack constructed with beautifully figured, locally felled & dried Walnut.

Shear legs hewn from dead standing Western Red Cedar. Hit me up for lifting things — any excuse to use it.

Straightforward stair repairs using treated softwood to replace rotten components.

Hewing in Somerset. Very locally sourced Red Oak, to be used at Jarrow Hall Museum in South Tyneside for an ongoing project.

And finally, a weekend of carpentry nerdery with friends and strangers at Splinter Frame in Devon.
